Obituary for Everett "Pete" Hensley

Everett "Pete" Hensley
Everett Doyle (“Pete”) Hensley, 82, of Angleton passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, in Angleton.
Pete was born August 25, 1935, in Gregory, Texas, to parents Everett Earl Hensley and Ruby Whiteley Hensley. He was raised in Bishop, Texas. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, enlisting at the age of 17 and serving during the Korean War.
Pete was a long time employee of the Industrial Security Department at Dow Chemical Company, and he was well known to generations of Dow and contractor employees that passed through the gates.
Pete was a devoted member of the Second Baptist Church of Angleton. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and the Texas Aggies. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gloria Jean Hensley.
Survivors include his children, Tina Hensley Dean and husband, Walter, of Angleton, Doyle Wayne Hensley and wife, Sharon, of Alvin and Glen Allen Hensley and wife, Barbara, of Angleton; grandchildren, Jamie Leal, Alyssa Hensley and Jacob Hensley of Angleton; great-grandchild, Aubrie Leal of Angleton; and brother, Howard Hensley of Corpus Christi.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Center, Texas.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
The family extends special gratitude to the staff of Country Village Care for their compassionate care during Pete’s final days
