Condolence: Jim, Gene, Georgene, and family members. As God said to Joshua following Moses' death, "Be strong and courageous, for I am with you." That is true for you now. Always look forward to seeing your Mom again. It was a privilege to have known your Georgia as a friend of ours and a neighbor to my parents. She was a pillar of strength and courage to Angleton and especially to her neighborhood. She was "tough-love" before the term became popular. She was a "find a need and fill it" person to everyone she met. She even cared so much for my mom's dog that she came over every day for 10 years to give "Bunkie" his dailey insulin shot. Now that's caring! Once when my Mom was in the ER following a fall, she said that she knew all was well when she heard Georgia's voice above all others calling out, "Where's Dailey?". She freely gave of herself to three generations of our family. We are saddened by her passing, yet glad she is free from pain and suffering and has reached her reward.
Condolence: Of all the teachers.....principals and staff of AISD....Mrs. Georgia Powell is the one person who stands out above all the rest. She had a caring nature about her unsurpassed. She tirelessly gave out sugar cubes at Northside Elementary as a polio vaccine. My condolences to the Powell family. She will be missed! God bless and Rest In Peace! 🙏🏼
Condolence: Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.--Psalms 116:15. Grieve because she is no longer with us, but rejoice in the time we had with her. As a former Purple Pride band director, it was my distinct honor to work with Georgia in the Angleton Band Boosters. A more wonderful individual and hard worker could not be found. RIP, Georgia, and thanks for a job well done on this earth. My deepest condolences to her family.
Condolence: Georgia and my grandparents, George and Charline Dailey, shared a side yard on Cotharn Dr. and a friendship for many years. I'm sad to hear of Georgia's passing. She took great care of both my grandparents, and we will forever be thankful for the connection they had.
Condolence: The best portion of a good person’s life is their little nameless unrememberd acts of kindness and of love. What Georgia leaves behind is not what is engraved on a stone monument, but what she has woven into the lives of others.
Condolence: Class of 90’- I had the honor to work with Nurse Powell.. as a school nurse. Why? In 6th grade I told her I wanted to be just like her. And so I went to nursing school - became a school nurse- and remained close friends with her. She was a true legend in our community, we’ve lost too many- there are only few legends left.. but none like her. I loved her candor, sarcasm, advice, sternness and how much she loved the kids and children. God Speed Nurse Powell
Condolence: Please know how very saddened we are for the loss of beloved Georgie. We send our deepest condolences to the family. Having lost someone is a difficult moment of life. We will always remember Aunt Georgie for her humor and contagious laugh. May she rest in peace.
