James was also known as Jo, Uncle Jim, and Papa. He was a World War 2 veteran. Served as a Sargent in the United States Army, stationed in the Philippines and Okinawa. After his return he was a mountain climbing instructor at Camp Carson, CO. He was an active member of the Church of Christ for 54 years and was a Dow retiree of 34 years. He was very involved in his two son’s activities and was a part of Troop 13 Boy scouts as an Assisted Scout Leader for 8 years. Papa was a loving, kind, stern, God loving man and was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back to a loved one or a complete stranger. Papa loved cooking and it gave him absolute joy to pass that knowledge off to his kids and grandkids. As a man, papa was well respected among his coworkers and congregation, but as a father, grandfather, great grandfather he was second to none. As everyone knows god and family was his life and the love he showed everyone throughout his 91 years will surely be remembered
