Obituary

William Jerome Reichel, known by friends and family as Jerry or simply Pop, passed away February 4, 2019 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. He was born in Macon, Missouri on December 22, 1937 to William Theodore Reichel and Margaret Butler Reichel. He was their only child. Jerry lived most of his life in Texas, graduating from Lamar High School in Rosenberg, Texas. After working as a medical technologist and a pharmaceutical supply salesman, Jerry became a paramedic in 1979 and helped establish Central Emergency Medical Service in West Columbia. He served there as the first EMS Chief. He founded Emergency Consultants, Inc. in 1984. Jerry was truly a pioneer in Texas EMS. Jerry enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Jerry is survived by two sons, William Scott Reichel (Cheri) of League City and Patrick Alan Reichel (Colleen) of Danciger. He is also survived by three grandchildren, William Travis Reichel and Tyler Ryan Reichel of League City and Samantha Ann Reichel of Danciger.

Thanks for all that you did and I learned a lot form you. I’m gonna miss all of your sarcasm, especially the celebratory pause, “ah hem. In closing from the great Elvis Presley, “Thank ya very much.”

My condolences to the Reichel family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth. We hope you find comfort in God’s promises.

Patrick, Colleen and Samantha,
I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers. I always enjoyed seeing your dad (Pops) and visiting with him when he came out to help y’all with hay.
Rest In Peace
