Memorial services for David Andrew Christian, 72, of Rosharon will be held 10:00 on Saturday, July 11that Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 on Friday, July 10th at Palms Funeral Home. David was born Sept. 22, 1942 in Mabank, Texas to Betty Lane Sloan and J.R. Christian and passed away Tuesday July 7, 2015 at his home in Rosharon. David was a loving son, husband, father, uncle, and Pops to his grandchildren as well numerous other children. David loved to hunt, to fish, and to rodeo and acquired many lifelong friends with each. David absolutely loved the country life. Though David was a man of few words, he never met a stranger. David grew up in Wild Peach and graduated from West Columbia High School. He attended Wharton Junior College and later transferred to SHSU when he began his career with TDC. After graduating from SHSU with his Master's in Criminology, David continued working for TDC and found his way back to Brazoria County. David served as assistant warden at Ramsey and later became warden of Retrieve and Darrington. David retired from TDC and later served as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2. He again retired and began working as a gunsmith. David loved the rodeo and supported the youth. He was the past president of the the BCFA and dedicated many years of service to the youth. He sponsored numerous youth rodeos and 4-H events. David was a charter life member of the BCFA as well as lifetime member of the AQHA. David was preceded in death by his father, J.R. Christian and is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Christian of Rosharon, mother, Betty Lane Christian of Wild Peach, children, Andy Christian and wife, Melanie of Danbury, Jonnie Leigh Jones of Rosharon, Kelly Atchison and husband, Luke of Angleton, grandchildren Gabby Hoffman, Drew Christian, Brent Jones, Sophie Atchison, brothers, Bill Christian, Raymond Christian, Tim Christian, and Danny Christian. Honorary pallbearers will be James Blackstock, Bob Garrett, Jacko Garrett, Marvin Lanier, Archie Maples, John Maples, John McClellan, and Sidney Murphy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David's name to Demi's Difference, Big Love, or any charity of your choice.
