On September 10, 2023, Heaven gained an angel when the world lost Enos Ann Langston-a selfless forty-one-year educator and a loving, dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Ann was born in Denison, Texas on August 12, 1942, to parents, Enos and Goldie (Haynie) Davidson. She graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School after which she attended Sam Houston State University where she graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. The very next day after her college graduation, Ann married the love of her life-Arnold Ray Langston-on August 25, 1962. Before his passing in 2016, Ann and Arnold were married for 50 years during which time they tirelessly supported each other, constantly gave back to the community, and successfully raised three daughters-Kim, and twins Sarah and Malissa-who all themselves eventually became educators following in Ann's footsteps of impacting young lives through public education.
Ann was a forty-one (41) year veteran of Angleton ISD. She began her career as an Elementary School teacher in 1962 at Northside Elementary before becoming a long-time home economics teacher in 1966. Ann eventually earned her Master's Degree in Library Science from Sam Houston and became the librarian at Angleton High School-a position she dutifully served from 1979 until her retirement in 2003 during which time she spread her love of reading books to several generations of students. In furtherance of her passionate commitment to education, Ann was a founding member in 1968 of the Gamma Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, which is an International Honorary Organization for Women Educators. She was also a long-time member of the General Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and became an active volunteer in 2004 for the Angleton-Danbury Hospital Auxiliary. When she was not serving her community, Ann loved spending time with her family, reading books, and sewing.
Ann was a precious woman, who will be dearly missed by many. She is preceded in death by her parents, Enos and Goldie (Haynie) Davidson and her husband of fifty years, Arnold Langston. She is survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Noh (and her husband Denny Noh), her three daughters, Kimberly Boone (and her husband Andy Boone), Malissa Martin (and her husband Ben Martin), and Sarah Johnson (and her husband Daniel Johnson), her four grandchildren, Jake Martindale, Luke Boone, Clark and Jonah Johnson, as well as her niece, Doran Langston.
Visitation will be held on September 16, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas located at 972 Anchor Rd, Angleton, TX 77515. A funeral service will follow at First Baptist at 1:00 p.m. with a brief gravesite service afterward at Angleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Ann's honor to the National Ataxia Foundation. More information can be found at: https://www.ataxia.org/donate/
