Lily Frances Lawson (Fran) was the youngest child born to Amanda & I.W. Lawson in Houston, TX on October 8, 1923. She lived most of her life in Houston until retirement and for many years has lived in Angleton, TX. Fran died on February 3. She is predeceased by her parents, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her sister Dee, nieces Yvonne Huegel, Ruanne Kuhlmann, and Sharon Gersch and nephew Stan West. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Melinda Nix for her loving care for Frances until her final days. Fran worked in war support jobs after high school and after the war she attended X-ray Tech school at St. Joseph's Hospital. She worked in that capacity until retirement. Fran was active in the American Red Cross where she was a first responder in relief efforts after the 1947 Texas City disaster and for many years taught first aid and swimming lessons through Red Cross programs. She spent many hours with the kids and the family at the beach or pulling water skiers behind her boat. She was most happy, though, with a fishing pole in her hand, whether off her boat or on the pier near her beach house at Treasure Island with her dear friend Billie, who also predeceased her. Happy fishing, Franny. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Angleton SPCA or the charity of your choice.
