Harold Max Burke Jr. "Pawpaw" went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2021, at the age of 95. He was born on November 3, 1925 to parents Harold Sr. and Lucille Burke. Harold was a beacon of light who brought joy and laughter to all that had the pleasure of his company. Harold honorably served in the Army Air Corp and later served in the U.S. Air Force. After his service in the military was completed, he found great satisfaction and enjoyment continuing to serve in civilian life for the U.S Postal Service until he retired. He took great pride in faithfully and cheerfully delivering mail to residents on the route he walked for many years. Harold loved playing games, which he did often with friends and family; he also loved to travel, spending time in Camp Wood at his property, playing guitar, "collecting data'' and studying number patterns in the game of Baccarat, watching funny old movies and westerns, and ketchup. Harold was well known and loved for his sense of humor, often cutting up with jokes and being silly, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone around him. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mayme Burke, their children; Jeana Aaron & husband Arnold, Louis Honeycutt, Greg Burke, Tony Burke, and Cindy Ausmus; seven grandchildren; Lauren Shuttlesworth, AJ Honeycutt, Trey Honeycutt, Joseph Aaron, Madison Yates, Greg Gonzales, and Matt Simpson, and fourteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his children Max Burke and Dena Honeycutt-Yates, and his sisters Margaret Wolf and Anna Dunn. A memorial service to Honor Harold's life and legacy will be held on Friday, April 16th at 2 PM, at Galena Park Church of God (Seventh Day), 1203 Main Street, Galena Park, TX 77547.
