James Douglas "Jim" Geserick

James Douglas Geserick "Jim" a 40+ year resident of the West Columbia area passed away peacefully overnight on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was 70 years old. Jim was born in Camden, NJ on January 6, 1950 to Edward and Jackie Geserick. He was the 4th of 7 children. He had been residing at Carriage Inn of Lake Jackson for the past year and a half where he was very well provided for by his caregivers. He made frequent visits to the homes of his 3 children where he adored visiting with his 5 grandchildren. Jim married the love of his life, Charlotte Glemser, on August 15, 1968 and they had 3 loving children together. Jim was an extremely hard worker. He spent his entire career as a variety of roles starting in construction and being an expert heavy equipment operator. He could build anything and ranged from projects at home, mission trips to Mexico and in Texas, UM Army and working with his brother Larry building piers and boathouses. Jim loved the Lord and was a member of several different churches throughout his life. He was currently a member at First United Methodist Church/Angleton where he attended with his children and grandchildren. He attended Walk to Emmaus. He also served the Lord as a foster parent with his wife Charlotte for several years. Jim answered to several different names throughout the years, Jimmy and Jim but his favorite name ever, was Grandpa. He spent countless hours with his grandchildren wherever it took him. Jim is survived by his children, James Douglas "Doug" Geserick, Jennifer Moraw and son-in-law Mike Moraw and Beverly Armstrong and son-in-law Johnny Armstrong also by his 5 grandchildren Jeremiah and Jessica Armstrong and Kara, Koree, and Kimber Moraw. He is also survived by his brother Larry Geserick and wife Cheri, sister Cynthia Watson and husband Glen, sister-in-law Mimi Geserick and Helen Geserick and brother-in-law Dick Daugherty. He is survived by in-laws Wanda Glemser and Peggy and Bob Yago, and Eric and Jeanne Glemser. Also, by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Jim is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Charlotte (2010) of 41 years; both of his parents Edward and Jackie Geserick; brothers Edward Jr, Thomas, and David; and sister Barbara Daugherty. In laws Carl Glemser and Bobby Glemser. Jim was loved by many friends and family; he will be dearly missed. Visitation will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 beginning 10:00 am to 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Angleton. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Angleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Angleton; 219 N Arcola Street.
