Jessie Mae Branstetter, 91 of Alvin passed away on February 14, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born in Harrison, Arkansas on August 8, 1923. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Palms Funeral Home Angleton, Texas with burial to follow in Southpark Cemetery. A Public Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 5-7:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett C. "Brandy" Branstetter, daughter Connie Kay Opperud, son-in-law Richard Opperud, grandson Rick Opperud, II, and great-granddaughter Ariel Smith. Jessie is survived by her sister Betty Jo Whitaker of Angleton, TX, sister-in-law Pauline and husband Roland Bussell of Richardson, TX, granddaughter Robbyn Smith and husband Larry Smith of Angleton, TX, great grandchildren: Meghan & Julio Molina of Cypress, TX, Gabrielle & Jodie Vesely of St. Petersburg, Russia, Emily & Tyler Pekar of Angleton, TX, Shelbi Smith & Jacob Robinson of Chandler, OK, great great-grandchildren Haddee Mae & Gideon Vesely, grandchildren: Josh & Pam Opperud, Amber Kay Opperud, great great-grandchildren Aliyah Gil & Issac Gil, grandson Brandy Opperud, great-grandsons Jesse & Jordan Opperud as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Julio Molina, Tyler Pekar, Joshua Opperud, Jesse Opperud, Jacob Robinson & Brandy Opperud, Honorary Pallbearers Jodie Vesely & Larry Smith. Nanna was a kind and gentle soul who cherished spending time with those she loved. Everyone who knew her adored her, and she could make the darkest day brighter just by smiling. Her family will always love her a "bushel and a peck" and will strive to continue the amazing legacy of kindness and passion that she left with the world. They would also like to express a heartfelt appreciation for the fervent care provided by Dr. Mikkilineni, and the friends at IPH and Cypress Woods Care Center.
