Joe Bob Powers Born February 24th, 1958, Passed May 4th, 2019 Born to Jack R. Powers and Verna "Jackie" Endsley Powers in Odessa, Texas. Attended grades school in Abilene, Texas and Fort Worth, Texas. Attended Conroe High School and Jersey Village High School in Houston, Texas. Joe Bob was the 5th of 6 children from the combined family of his parents and grew up participating in every sport offered. He loved water skiing, riding motorcycles, playing the guitar and camping with family in Wilderville, Texas. He also enjoyed telling funny stories and bad jokes. Joe Bob always ended every conversation with this question, "Has anyone told you today that they love you? If you said "no" he'd answer, "well you can't say that anymore." If you said "yes" he'd respond, "well mark me down twice then". Joe Bob married Debra Sue Rudder in 1978 and raised 3 children, Joey Don of Lubbock, Texas, Jacob David of Angleton and Ashley Sue of God knows where. Living most of his adult life in and around Abilene, and Hawley, Texas. He was an owner/operator of his own truck, driving for the Bilbo Corporation. Preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jackie, sister Ann, brothers Bill Jackson and James David Powers. He is survived by his children, Joey, his wife Jennifer Powers, Jake, his wife April and daughter, Ashley Sue Baldwin. Sister Linda Torres of Arlington, Texas and Brother, Bo Powers and his wife Kim of Deer Park, Texas. Grandchildren: Madisyn Nicole and Zachary Michael Robert Baldwin. Brooklyn Elizabeth and Charlotte Elise Powers of Lubbock. Victoria Ruth and Joel Wayne McElroy of Angleton. Also, a special acknowledgment to his best friends, John McClure from Abilene and Eddie Reyes along with fellow residents at Fountain Grass Park in Angleton. There will be a small service held at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Clute, on May 25, 2019, with Pastor and friend Tom Flores officiating at 6pm with a meal to follow. The family will be laying Joe Bob to rest at the family estate at a Wilderville, Texas next to his brother, James David Powers on June 15th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in his honor. Service Details.
