Ronald Hayden "Ron" Farquharson

Ronald "Ron" Hayden Farquharson was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 30, 1947, to parents Theodore Nelson and Marietta Henson Farquharson. Ron and his family moved to Texas when he was a young child. He attended high school at Brazosport High School and was known as a baseball star. Shortly after high school, he started a career at DOW and was blessed with his first daughter Stephanie Weir. Eight years later, he was blessed with another baby girl named Jennifer Neel. At 21 years old, Ronald was in an industrial accident at DOW where he unfortunately lost his right hand. Many years later, with the help of his loving wife, Janet Farquharson, and business partners Johnny and Clint Rouse, Texas Assistive Devices was born. Ron, Johnny and Clint have helped thousands of people across the world with what is known as the "N-Abler". Their business makes life for people who have upper extremity prosthetics more accessible to normalcy. The idea of TAD came about when Ron was expressing his love for cooking to Johnny and his frustration that came with cooking with his hook. He asked him if there was any way he could come up with a device that he could attach cooking utensils to. Johnny pointed out that if Ron was looking for a device like that then others were probably in need of one as well. Now they have attachments for everything from a toothbrush to a kitchen knife. Ron is survived by his wife, Janet Farquharson, brother and sister in law Richard and Judy Farquharson, and daughter Stephanie and husband David Weir. Daughter Jennifer Neel and fiance Jerry Hartmann. Grandchildren Brandon and his wife Lauren Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Kyndzi and Kamryn Weir Hayden Neel, Jacoby and Jackson Hartmann, and his great grandson Wesley Patterson. As well as many loved nieces and nephews. Along with his beloved dogs Tazzy, Dinah, Daisy and Paige (who he called Maggie Mae). Plus his bonus family Brittney Morgan, Cyndi Tribble, Kevin Brown,Clyde Patterson, Johnny, Connie and Clint Rouse. Mr. Farquharson passed away on March 9, 2021 joining his parents Theodore Nelson and Marietta Henson Farquharson, Brother Theodore (Ted) Farquharson and nephew David Farquharson. As well as his beloved dogs Hank and Sally.Ron will be missed immensely by his family and friends but will live on through the memories and stories shared. The funeral service for Ron will be on Monday March 15, 2021. Visitation starts at 9am and the service starts at 10am. Pallbearers are Clint Rouse, Jason Rouse, Jerry Hartmann, Kenneth Stahl, Kevin Brown, & Todd Farquharson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Patterson & Matthew Patterson.
