William Henry Powell Jr.

William "Bill" Henry Powell, Jr. of Brazoria passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 69. Bill was born to Paula Lynthea Atwood and William Henry Powell, Sr. on November 4, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia. He was the eldest boy of five siblings, always looking after brothers, Edward and James, and sisters Grace and Susan. At an early age, Bill became the man of the household and began his career working as a shrimp boat captain in his family's owned and operated fishing business. He eventually left the commercial fishing industry to pursue his passion in automotive repair. Bill and his loving wife, Betty, settled in the town of Brazoria where they raised their three children. Bill taught as a professor at University Technical Institute in Houston for many years before opening his own company in 2017, Powell Automotive Repair. He is best known as a giving man who never met a stranger and easily kept his friends laughing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Betty Powell, mother Paula Atwood, father William Powell, Sr., and sisters Grace and Susan Powell. Additionally, he is remembered by his children Tracey Poulsen, Billy Powell with wife Tanya, Clifford Powell with wife Stacey, and grandchildren Jordy, Lane, John, Tyler, Shandy, Makenzie, Taylor, Ashtyne, Cannin, Selah, and Jessa. Along with brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Services will be held at Palms Funeral Home on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Angleton, Texas. Visitation: Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (family at 9:00 a.m.).
