A.L. Murray was born on May 24th, 1933 in Natchitoches, LA. He was a truck driver for many years of his life. He also worked for Red Simpson Inc. in the power line business. While at Red Simpson he hired and trained many family members and friends, not only about the business, but also about life and how to be a good man. A.L. was an outstanding role model and there are many people in this world that are better because of him. He loved the outdoors, and it didn't matter if it was running dogs, hunting, fishing, or just camping under the stars. But most of all, he loved visiting with family and friends. Pawpaw was loved by so many and will be missed more than words can describe. His work here is done, but we will forever adore and remember him, and can stand taller and stronger knowing that he is with our Lord watching over us. A.L. passed away peacefully, at the age of 88, in Galveston, TX on Friday, September 24th, 2021 at 4:50pm. while surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents Alex and Ona Murray, his sons Jody and Wayne Murray, and his late wife Ava Murray. Those left to mourn his passing are, his loving wife of 23 years Dorothy Murray of Angleton Texas, son Ray Lopez and wife Paula of Angleton Texas, son Terry Lopez and wife Rose of Sugarland Texas, son David Lopez and wife Sheila of Angleton Texas, son Bubba Murray of Angleton Texas, son Heath Smith and wife Jamee of Gunnison Colorado, daughter Heather Smith and husband Jarod of Golden Colorado, and a countless number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers and friends.
