Alfred Emil “Fritz” Fojtik, 92, passed away on January 13, 2025, in Hallettsville. Fritz began his life journey October 4, 1932, in Muldoon when he was born to August and Mary (Filipp) Fojtik.
He was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean War and served in Germany.
In his lifetime he worked for O’Bannens Grocery, Blounts Groceries, and Stewarts Groceries in Brazoria. The Stewarts are like a second family to him.
Alfred was a long-time resident of Angleton and an avid fan of Angleton Sports, especially the Ladycat Softball team. His loyalty and dedication to the team was beyond measure. His years of following the team gained him an incredibly large “family”.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae Fojtik, his parents August and Marie Fojtik, his stepson Jerry Wayne Fojtik, his brother Wilbert W. Fojtik,Sr., and his sisters: Lorene Byrnes, Mildred Dixon, and Betty Maeker.
He is survived by his stepson Wilbert W. Fojtik Jr. and wife Marilyn, daughter in law (Jerry’s wife) Tammy Fojtik, sisters: Marie Sanders, Margaret Garrett, Dolores Scott, and Carolyn Brogger; eight grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. with the Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
