Alfred Neil Andrews, 89, of Alvin passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in Webster. Funeral services are set for Friday, February 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Palms Funeral Home Chapel in Angleton, with Rev. Michael O'Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Brazoria Cemetery. Mr. Andrews was born February 26, 1922 in Winnipeg, Canada to Rufus & Olive Steele Andrews and moved to Texas when he was 5. A WWII Marine Veteran, he served in the South Pacific and Iwo Jima. Andrews retired from the City of Angleton Public Works Department after 30 years and had served as President of the American Water Works and was an Angleton Volunteer Fire Department member for 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Peggy, of Alvin, sons; Daniel (Pam) Andrews & Michael Andrews, grandchildren Christopher Andrews, Kelley Andrews, Walter Andrews, James Monnat & George Monnat, Jr. and great-grandchildren; Nathan, Elizabeth & Jonathan Andrews.
