Alma Norene Chism

Alma Norene Chism, 93, of Alvin went home to her Lord and Savior on April 30, 2021 with her family by her side. Alma began her journey on this earth on October 13, 1927 when she was born at the family home in Fisher County to proud parents James Howard and Alma Emma (Walker) Blythe. She married her soul mate, Herman Nelson Chism, on February 10, 1946. They moved from El Paso to Alvin in 1971 and made this place their home. While attending South Park Baptist Church she worked in the nursery for many years. She had her biological grandchildren, but was loved and known as Nana to everyone. Those that knew her know that she was an amazing cook. She made the best chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, turkey dressing, chocolate pudding, and chocolate pie! She greatly enjoyed playing games, especially Bunco and Skipbo. Her greatest love was her Lord and it gave her peace to know that all of her children are Christians. She was a giving woman who was always willing to do anything for anyone that needed her. Time spent with and taking care of her family was time treasured. Norene was preceded in death by her husband Herman Nelson Chism on November 10, 1989. Left to treasure her memory are her children: Johnny Chism and wife Ruth, Kenneth Chism and wife Diana, Beverly Pancamo and husband Mark; brother: Boyd Blythe; sister: Peggy Hall; grandchildren: Kimberly Duncan and husband Adam, Brandi Chism and husband Justin Dildy, Trisha Hubbard and husband Ricky, Kayla Pourchot and husband Chris, Cody Pancamo, Chase Pancamo and wife Dawn, Nathan Chism and wife Amelia; great grandchildren: MacKenzie Frausto and husband Drake, Cameron Hubbard, MacKailey Duncan, Kade Pourchot, Kennedy Duncan, Kyle Pourchot, Hailey Hubbard, Zane Pourchot, Azlynn Navarro, Tinsley Pourchot, Lincoln Pancamo, Maverick Pancamo; and numerous other family members and friends.
