Annie Francis (Drastata) Walcik, 95, passed away in Angleton, Texas October 24, 2012. She was born December 28, 1916 in Taiton, Wharton County, Texas to Charles Drastata and Rosie Drapela Drastata. She is survived by her children, Bill Walcik & wife Shirley of Angleton, Robert Walcik & wife Lou of Pearland, Randolph Walcik & wife P J of Midland, Michigan, & James Walcik & wife Brenda of Rancho Cucamonga, California; & numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosie Adams of Corpus Christi, Sophie Shell of Atlanta, Georgia, George & Ingegerd Drastata of Gilrock, Wisconsin, Agnes Benoit of DeRidder, Louisiana, John & Irene Drastata of Dallas, Charles & Virginia Drastata of Bellville, Henry & Marianne Drastata of Houston & Jerry & Barbara Drastata of Ganado. Annie was married to Willie Walcik on September 26, 1934 in Taiton, Texas. Willie preceded her in death, as did her daughter & son-in-law Viola & Jack Lander. Annie was one of 13 children born to Charles & Rosie Drastata. Throughout her life she loved visiting relatives and friends, baking her famous kolaches, playing dominos, bingo, fishing, crabbing, traveling and camping. Over the past few years she enjoyed her walks in and around the Country Village Nursing Home and sitting outdoors observing all of God's creation. A visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2012 at Palms Funeral Home from 5-6 p.m. with a Christian Wake/Rosary starting at 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery; pallbearers will be Jacob Walcik, Jeremiah Walcik, Michael Lander, John Lander, Bill Lander & Mark Lander. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1713 N. Tinsley, Angleton, Texas 77515; Catholic Daughters of America, P O Box 2564, Angleton, Tx 77516 or a charity of choice. Special thanks to Mrs. Gracie Buchta Shefts, Country Village Nursing & Assisted Living staff; & the wonderful caregivers that provided so much loving care for Annie.
