Anthony 'Red' Duke

Anthony "Red" Duke, 77 of Alvin passed peacefully at home on Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born to Elmo & Mayme Duke on April 18, 1941 in Houston, TX. Funeral is scheduled for Thursday, May 31, 2018 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 10:00 am, immediately following will be graveside at Catholic Cemetery on 10th Street Danbury. Luncheon to follow graveside at St. Anthony's Center, behind Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Palms Funeral Home from 5-7:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Red was 3rd generation farmer from Brazoria county, a self-proclaimed workaholic who enjoyed his time in the farm fields on his tractor. He loved his family dearly, hunting and Secretariat the horse. He enjoyed John Wayne movies and all westerns, enjoyed listening, playing and singing Elvis. He was a generous man of great determination, grit and conviction. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marjorie Ann Planka. Red is survived by his wife of 56+ years Carolyn Duke, children Anthony Duke, Jr. (Cindy), Ronald Lee Duke (Terri), Monte Duke (Kathy), Toni Hairston (Scott), grandchildren Anthony Duke III, Dwayne Stevan Duke (Kim), Justin Roma Duke (Michelle), Cassandra Pearl Duke, Chelsey Lynne Duke, Molly Anne Duke (fiance - Tristin Oliver), Monte Scott Duke, Jr. (Bethany), Travis Michael Duke, Levi Glenn Duke, Matthew Lee Hairston (Tiffany), Amanda Lynn Dziuk (Ryan), Morgan Elizabeth Hairston, Sarah Nichole Hairston and Vincent Pete Hairston, great-grandchildren Monte Scott Duke III "Trace", Wyatt James Duke, Madison LeeAnn Hairston and Tatum Jade Hairston, a brother, some cousins that were like brothers and sisters to him and numerous other family and friends. Pall-Bearers will be his grandsons & close family members. In lieu of floral remembrances the family asks that donations be made to the SPCA and the American Cancer Society in Red's name.
