Archie Lynn Messec, 92 of Danbury, Texas passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020. Archie was born on August 11, 1928 to Archie & Carrie Messec in Houston, Texas. Archie graduated from Angleton High School and attended SHSU from 1945 to 1946. He served in The United States Air Force from 1946 to 1949. After serving his country, he attended The University of Houston from 1949 to 1951. He married Mildred Wollam in 1955. They were married until her death in 2012. Archie worked as a pipefitter for Phillips from 1952 to 1962. He then worked at Ethyl Dow from 1966 to 1969. Archie finished his career at Dow Chemical from 1969 to 1993. Archie was a big sports fan and everyone knew of his love for the Houston Cougars. He got great enjoyment out of going to the Cougar football and basketball games. His other hobbies included playing golf and shrimping up and down the gulf coast. Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Carrie Messec; his wife, Mildred Messec; and his sister Gladys Marshall. Archie leaves a LIFETIME of precious memories to his survivors: Son - Mark Messec and his wife Sharon Messec from Angleton, Texas; Daughter - Terri Jackson and husband Ricky Jackson from Highland Village, Texas; Grandson - Taylor Jackson and his wife Dayna Finley Jackson from Dallas, Texas; Granddaughter - Whitney Jackson from Katy, Texas; Granddaughter Dayna Messec Lowe and her husband Marcus Lowe from Bay City, Texas. Graveside services will be held Saturday Dec. 5th at 1:00pm at the Danbury Cemetery. In-lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in his name at www.jdrf.org.
