Arnulfo "Alfred" "Al" Martinez Flores, Sr.

Arnulfo “Alfred” “Al” Martinez Flores, Sr., 75, of Angleton passed away on March 2, 2025, with his family by his side. Arnulfo was born on March 10, 1949, in Goliad TX, to Manuel and Guadalupe (Martinez) Flores. He married Maria Villarreal on April 7, 1968, in Angleton, TX.

Arnulfo in his younger years enjoyed playing baseball, dominos, poker, and drinking with his buddies. He was a mechanic and over the years fixed many people’s cars; he also worked as a cement finisher and was a foreman for Gulf States and other contractors. His skills in concrete gave him the opportunity to travel overseas to England – where he worked and temporarily lived in a castle. In his later years, he enjoyed being around his grandchildren and great children.

He had such a special connection and relationship with his sister Esulinda, that alongside his wife, they spent multiple hours a week with her – showing his sister compassion and patience when she needed him the most.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Manuel Flores, Jr., sisters Angelina Blackerby, Maria Elena Hinojosa, and Esulinda Benavides.

Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife of 56 years Maria Flores; his children: Arnulfo M. Flores, Jr. and wife Rosario; Lisa Allaun and husband Robert; Yolanda Flores; Laurie Flores; Amanda Tangara and husband Jonathan; and Armando M. Flores; siblings: Gloria Rodriguez, Esperanza Ramirez, and Olga Flores; grandchildren: Andrew Flores; Anthony Flores; Ashley Jenkins and husband Phillip; Robert Allaun and wife Crystal; Nulfo Flores; Alex Flores; Jeremy Allaun; Tavion Randall; Jaylyn Tims; Darius Guillory; Kai Tangara; and Kalani Tangara; great grandchildren: Zoya; Ezra; and Andrew; and numerous other family members and friends.

Pallbearers are his grandsons: Andrew Flores, Anthony Flores, Robert Allaun, Nulfo Flores, Alex Flores, Tavion Randall, and Darius Guillory.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service following at 1:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Olivier officiating. Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
