Art retired from the United States Army as a Sargent First Class with 20 years of service. Art was preceded in death by his parents Benard and Mary Thompson; his sisters Joanne Ballamy and Lou Johnson; his brothers Bobby Thompson and Rick Thompson.
Art was a devoted husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He enjoyed his yearly trips back home to Virginia to visit family. Art also loved his Texas family and enjoyed birthday parties and dinners, where Art would cook BBQ and enjoy a beverage or two. He was fun loving and loved to fish with his son Scott. He was Mark’s and his niece Ashlyn’s biggest fans and attended as many of their school and sporting events as he could. Art was also an active member of the local VFWs.
