Arthur Lee Peavy, Sr. was born October 18, 1932. He was the first born in Navasota, Texas, Grimes County. His parents were the late Esaw Peavy, Sr. and Elnora Thompson Peavy. Growing up he attended George Washington Carver High School. With his five other siblings. Later he was drafted into the United States Military, Army Division. Arthur served in the Korean War for eight years and was listed as missing in action for a period. After returning home, he explained to the family that he was a prisoner of war. Shortly thereafter, he obtained a job with the City of Houston and settled down with his first wife, Lois Peavy Jenkins, together they had three boys and two girls, he also has another daughter prior to these children. As he worked for the City of Houston, he and his family were members of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. In his spare time, he was a mechanic, welder, carpenter and a full fledge cowboy. He retired after twenty-nine years of service with the City of Houston. During this time, he met and married his second wife, Lisa Jo Davis, to this union, one son was born, Joseph Peavy. Arthur united with New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, under Pastor David L. Smith. He and Lisa lived together in Rosharon, Texas. On October 22nd he was called home by our heavenly father.
