Barbara Bluejacket

Barbara Bluejacket, born December 3, 1949, in Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, surrounded by her devoted family who loved her dearly.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, and Kathrine Tucker; her sisters by marriage, Sheila Patterson, Teresa DiPrima, and Glenda Baker; and her beloved dog, Big Pup. We take comfort in knowing Barbara, Big Pup, and her family are in Heaven together again.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Bluejacket; her daughter, Letia Harris, and husband, Glen; her sons, Kelly Bluejacket and wife, Amanda, and Jesse Bluejacket and wife, Heather. She also cherished her twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy and pride.

Barbara’s life was centered around her family, and her happiest moments were spent with them. Whether cheering on her children and grandchildren at sporting events, hosting sleepovers filled with laughter, or showcasing her exceptional moves on the dance floor, her vibrant spirit left a lasting impression. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including scratch-off lottery tickets, a cold shot of tequila, and a perfectly made Bloody Mary. She loved to play pitch, a favorite card game, with her family, and she embraced the beauty of cold weather, often finding joy and comfort in its crispness. Barbara had a passion for travel and a gift for making friends wherever she went. She was also deeply committed to giving, always donating to charities, and helping the less fortunate whenever she could.

Barbara had a kind heart that touched many lives, including her friends and colleagues during her time working for the City of Surfside. Her warmth and friendliness made her a beloved member of the community and a friend to all who knew her.

Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love. She was a beautiful soul, whose legacy will continue to inspire all who loved her. Barbara’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Palms Funeral Home with burial to follow at Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesse Bluejacket, Kelly Bluejacket, Braylen Bluejacket, Jadden Bluejacket, Jayce Bluejacket, Mathis Bluejacket and Glen Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ty Upshaw, Jorden Fulstone, Cory Cox, & Kai Williams.
