Barbara Evelyn Scott

Funeral services for Barbara Evelyn Scott, 86, of Danbury will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Angleton. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Palms Funeral Home. Barbara was born June 22, 1935, in Houston to Alsace Lorraine and Arnold Simons and passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, in Galveston. Barbara was first a Matriarch, then an educator, a mentor, a businesswoman. Respected by many and loved by all. Next to her Love of Her Life, CB Scott, her family was most important. She often said that her and CB found their lives and entertainment through the lives of their children and grandchildren. She is the mother of four, grandmother of 15, great grandmother of 37. She graduated from Angleton High School and subsequently received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Education from the University of Houston. She taught Theatre Arts/English/Spanish in High School for 23 years. Directed One-Act Play in Interscholastic League for 19 years, her students winning at the District, Regional, Area and State levels. She was twice selected Teacher of the Year. Her other passions included genealogy, travel and dancing. She became a Genealogist in 1992, authoring five family history books. She traveled the world from London to Spain to Rome to Istanbul. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her and CB loved dancing and for years could be found two-stepping at the American Legion Hall to the music of Deb and Lowell. A wife, a mother, an educator and a daughter of God. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Cluster Scott and daughters, Deanna and Lori Scott. She is survived by her sons, Wyatt Scott of Danbury and Shannon Scott of Danbury, brothers, William Carl Simons and Samuel Simons. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Straughn, Shay, Brandon, Josh, Ian, Andrew, Tyler and Skylar. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons, Corey, Patrick and great grandsons. Service Details.
