Barbara Jean Curtis Collins Barbara Jean Curtis Collins died on September 6, 2013 in Alvin, Texas at the age of 88. Barbara was born on August 18, 1925 in Lake Worth, Florida. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:00 am at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E Mulberry St, Angleton, Texas 77515. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm also at Palms Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. She was married to Wallace Eck Collins for 60 years. Barbara raised her family in Angleton, Texas where she lived until her husband died. She then moved to Alvin to be close to family. Barbara was active in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and supported the children's activities. In her 40's, she went back to college and fulfilled her lifelong dream of being a nurse and retired from Angleton-Danbury Hospital. Barbara is survived by daughter, Vicki L. Miles of Alvin; son, Wallace Craig Collins and wife, Karen of San Antonio; daughter, Leslie J. Campbell of Alvin, TX; She was proud of her 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by brother, Paul L. Curtis, Jr. and wife, Reba of Woodville, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
