Beatrice Laverne Mills Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother, Beatrice Laverne Henson Mills, 98, of Angleton passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in Angleton. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Angleton, with Dr. Rodney Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Palms Funeral Home. Beatrice was born March 19, 1915 in Maysfield, Texas to Richard & Bessie (Lanier) Henson. She moved to Freeport at the age of 2 and graduated from Freeport High School in 1933. She married Eddie C Mills on December 2, 1933. From this union they had 4 four children. Mrs. Mills was an active member of First Baptist Church where she had served on the Building Committee and also had served as president of the Women's Missionary Union. Upon the death of her husband, she went to work at the Singer Sewing Machine Store, Lee's Jewelers & Mina's. She also traveled with the Gad-Abouts. Her husband Eddie passed away in 1969. Daughter Joan Laverne Tunstall, granddaughter Deanna Lynn Tunstall, Sisters Ada Bullard, Ethel Roepke, Vera Henson and Brother R.H. Henson, Jr. preceded her in death. Survivors include her children: Brenda Sue Andrews of Oyster Creek, Eddie Raye Andrews & husband Donald of Waller, Richard T Mills & wife Debi of Angleton & son-in-law Jimmie Tunstall of Newcastle,Ok. Grandchildren: Terry Tunstall of New Castle, Ok, Jonny Tunstall of New Castle, Ok, Stacey Teer & husband Ronnie of Spring, Scott Andrews of Houston, Shawn Andrews & wife Marla of Clute, Dean Andrews & wife Carrie of Portland, Oregon, Jimmy Mills & wife Dayna of Georgetown, Gina Wilson & husband Rob of Danbury & Eddie Mills of Angleton. 21-Great-Grandchildren & 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, nieces Jamie LeMoing, Mary Ann Howard and nephew James Bullard along with many cousins and the extended Mills family. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons. Beatrice never met a stranger. She was always friendly and had a smile on her face and when faced with difficulty always would say that "tomorrow would be a better day". She was just awarded the "friendliest" resident at Cypress Woods Care Center. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
