Beatrice Waters

Beatrice Story Waters Beatrice Waters passed away on October 14, 2015 at The Fountains at the Albemarle in Tarboro, N.C. Born June 9, 1935, Beatrice was the eldest daughter of the late Tracy P. and Maud L. Story of Glen Cove, Coleman County, Texas. Visitation will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home, 201 Hospital Drive, Tarboro, N.C. on Saturday October 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday at the Angleton Cemetery in Angleton, Texas. Beatrice is survived by her husband, Harry E. Waters of Plymouth, N.C., and four children, Harry Waters Jr. (Suzanne) of Kennesaw, Georgia; Rebecca Waters Anderson (Jon) of Greensboro, N.C.; James Waters (Lori) of Willow Spring, N.C; and Joel Waters (Suzanne) of Chapel Hill, N.C. Her extended family includes seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Chadwick, of Albuquerque, N.M. Beatrice and Harry were married on February 12, 1955, while attending The University of Texas in Austin. She continued her education over a period of years and earned degrees from North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount and East Carolina University in Greenville. Beatrice enjoyed genealogical research and was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also enjoyed music, oil and watercolor painting, and porcelain doll making. In addition to teaching piano to many students, she played the piano, organ, cello, and violin. She enjoyed working with flowers and doing flower arrangements. Beatrice was fifth grade teacher for 22 years with the Washington County school system and found it to be a rewarding experience. On many occasions, her former students would see her and thank her for the time they spent in her class. She was recognized as a Teacher of the Year and received several other honors for her work.
