Betty Davis

Betty S. Davis, 79, of East Columbia passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Stafford, Tx. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Palms Funeral Home with Rev Chris Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Danbury Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-8 at Palms. Betty was born March 24, 1935 in Camden, Arkansas to George & Mavine Mays Spriggs. She graduated from Huntsville High School and attended Lon Morris College on a basketball scholarship. Betty retired as a RN after working many years at Community Hospital in Freeport, Women's Hospital in Houston and Angleton-Danbury General Hospital, where she helped deliver many, many babies. Betty loved to hunt, fish and was an avid sports fan and coached girls softball for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Elma R. Amox, her husband of 58 years George B Davis, Jr. & son Paul Davis, her granddaughter Nikki Mae Davis, sisters, Ernestine Woods, Christine Collette, brother, Sonny Spriggs and nephew Fred Collette. Survivors include her children, L'Ella Ramirez and husband Joe of Richwood, Richard Davis & wife Nancy of Danbury, Nancy Jones & husband Clayton of Fairfield, Lisa Solis & husband Joe of Holiday Lakes, Timothy Collette of Holiday Lakes and Anita Collette of Danbury. Special nephews & niece, Blaine & Christopher Collette and Kim Hall. Daughter-in-law, Deanna Davis of Hammond NY. 16 grandchildren & 18 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Josh Griffin, Kevin Stahlecker, John Adams, Justin Adams, Nick Ramirez, Tony Ramirez & Cameron Collette. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Stahlecker & Reece Davis.
