Betty Sydonia Dean Betty Dean, 89, of Alvin passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at her home. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Danbury Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Palms. Betty was born August 21, 1923 in Snook, Texas to Henry & Minnie Valchar Kulhanek, Sr. She was a hairdresser and a fine gourmet cook who loved hosting dinner parties. Her husband Orin preceded her in death along with her parents, her brothers; Frank & Henry Kulhanek and sisters; Francis Benigo, Lottie Frohoff & Gloria Mae Kulhanek. Survivors include her sisters; Yvonne Davenport of Alvin & Margaret Monroe of New Braunfels and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
