Billy D Taylor

Billy D. Taylor, 86, of Angleton, passed away on February 28, 2013 at Angleton Danbury Medical Center in Angleton. He was born to Bruce Doyle and Nancy Taylor in Teague, Texas on December 22, 1926. Bill enlisted in the Navy in November 1944 during WWII. He was honorably discharged in July 1946. It was during this tenure he learned his trade as an electrician. Upon returning home from the war he began working for a motor co. where he met the love of his life Nan Tate. They married in January 1949, and moved to Angleton where he began his career as an electrician for a locally owned company and eventually went to work for community Public Service Light Company before it became Texas-New Mexico Power Co. After 16 years there he and his wife ventured to buy Sharpe's Hardware in July 1967. In 1974 they purchased property on Highway 35 and moved the hardware business to this location and change the name to Taylor's Ace Hardware. The hardware business was a family business which included his daughter and two son and many good employees. It also housed a garden center and tool rental department. During this time they were blessed with many wonderful customers and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Nan, brother, Bobby Taylor, and son Kevin S. Taylor Survivors is his daughter Trecia Taylor Byrd, Son-in-law Arnold Byrd, son Rick Taylor and sister Dixie Williamson. Grandchildren, Tamra Byrd Whitehead (Chris), Jason Byrd, Rickey Taylor, Kristopher Taylor, Dalton Taylor, Shayna Taylor and Andrew Taylor. Great-grandchildren, Brianna Farrer, Cheyenne Whitehead, Ethan Byrd, Kristopher Taylor, Jr. and Brycen Sanders and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Palms Funeral Home on Saturday March 2, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield , Texas on March 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Provide comfort for the family by planting a tree in memory of Billy D Taylor, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
