He was born on May 14, 1947 to his parents: Willie Newton and Lillie (Volek) Zapalac in Angleton, Texas. Billy was a loving husband to his wife, Lynne of 26 years, father to Jennifer and Lee, grandfather to Avery and Carter, and son. Billy worked as a shop carpenter for Brazosport Independent School District where he retired from. Billy was drafted into the United States Army at the age of 18, where he proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Left to cherish Billy's memory is his loving wife, Lynne (Kyle) Zapalac, his daughter, Lee Barnett (Keith) and his grandchildren Avery and Carter Barnett. Awaiting Billy's arrival in Heaven are his parents: Willie Newton and Lillie Zapalac, his daughter Jennifer Zapalac, and his grandparents.
