Blain Stewart, 38, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 in Abilene. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel. Blain was born on August 29, 1974 in Freeport, Texas. He grew up in Brazoria, Texas and graduated from West Columbia High School. He served four years in the United States Air Force and was currently serving in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, camping and basically anything that involved the outdoors. Blain was a certified Peace officer for the State of Texas, a Jail Sergeant for Bastrop County and a Lieutenant for Caldwell County Correctional Facility. Survivors include his wife Mindy of Abilene; his sons, three year old, Ty and four month old twins, Ethan and Garrett; his father, Steve Stewart and wife Lisa of Lake Jackson; his mother, Connie Stewart of Smithville; mother-in-law, Pam Martin of Odessa; father-in-law, Buck Carter of Nubia; brother-in-law, James Carter of Abilene; step-brother, Nathan Vacker and step-sister, Courtney Vacker both of Lake Jackson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
