Bobbie Polston Carter

Bobbie Polston Carter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother passed away peacefully on June 15, 2014 at the age of 87 in Richmond, Texas. She was born in Comanche, Texas on July 22, 1926 to Beulah and Robert Polston. She married Troy L. Carter on June 29, 1942 and they moved to Angleton in 1966. She worked as a bus driver for Angleton ISD until her retirement in 1990. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Angleton and was a member of the choir for many years. She was also an active member of the Brazoria County Retired Teachers Association and served on the Telephone Committee for many years. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; 5 siblings; husband Troy L. Carter, Sr., son John Richard Carter and grandson Seth Michael Harp. She is survived by son Troy L. Carter, Jr. and wife Rita of Brazoria; son Tommy Carter and wife Janice of Angleton; daughter Janice and husband Jim of Richmond; daughter Bette Harp and husband Dewey of East Bernard; daughter-in-law Wanda Carter of Angleton; brother Kenneth Polston of Angleton; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home , 2300 East Mulberry in Angleton. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home.
