Carol Ann Deere

February 23, 1939 — September 8, 2015

Carol Ann Deere passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the age of 76. She fought a long and hard battle against Huntington's Disease for many years. Carol was born on February 23, 1939 in Chicago Illinois. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Gulich, Uncle Tony and Aunt Frannie Brazda who helped raise her after her parents deaths, dear friend Terry Peryam of Chicago, her beloved sister-in-law Dr. Joy Deere and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Carol is survived by her daughter Jennifer Morgan (Jason) of Pasadena, grandchildren Ashlyn Ramirez (Joe) of Freeport, Zachary Harvey of Cleveland, OH, Sebastian Morgan, and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jerry & Jennifer Ramirez. She is also survived by her cousin Jim Brazda and family of Illinois, lifelong friends Marvin and Phyllis Lapicola of Schaumburg, Illinois and Fred and Lila Berner of Vanderpool, Texas. After graduating from St. Luke's School of Nursing, Carol moved to Houston to start her career in the Medical Center with good friends, Terry Peraym and Dr. Joy Deere, who would later become her sister-in-law. After her marriage Carol moved to the Brazosport area and began working at the old Dow Hospital then transitioned to Brazosport Memorial Hospital where she eventually became the Director of Nursing for the Alpha Center. After receiving her CADAC license, Carol worked for numerous rehabilitation centers throughout the Brazosport area. Carol remained active for as long as her health could withstand. She had a passion for many things; helping others, her hometown Chicago Cubbies, her family and friends. She fought hard for what she believed in and rarely backed down.
