Carolina Martinez Carolina Martinez was born December 18, 1946 in Angleton, Texas to Anastacio and Petra Jasso Martinez. She passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2015 to be with her Lord after a lengthy battle with colon cancer at the age of 68 surrounded by her family. Carolina was one of ten children of Anastacio and Petra Martinez. Her utmost joy in life was being a caregiver to her family and volunteering to any organization whomever asked. She always gave with her whole heart and was a strong spiritual woman leading and ending each day in prayer and thanking her Lord for the life she had and shared her faith with her family and friends. She never met a stranger and all she met were instantly her life-long friend. Carolina is preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio and Petra Jasso Martinez, her brothers, Felix Martinez, Sr., Otilio Martinez, Sr., Juan Martinez and sister, Isabel Martinez, brother-in-law Eli Trevino and sister-in-law's, Cruz Martinez, Eva Martinez and Rosa Martinez. Carolina is survived by her sisters, Romana Trevino and Mary (Ruben) Pedraza and brothers, Domingo Martinez, Sr., A. "Rocky" (Ophilia) Martinez, Mario (Hilda) Martinez, sister-in-law Eva Martinez and special nephew Sabas Cantu, Jr. and his children Zachary Cantu, Luke Cantu and Julian Cantu, Ericca Cantu and Aylissa Cantu who Carolina raised as her own. She is also survived by 14 nephews, 7 nieces and numerous great-nephews and nieces. Memorial Services and Rosary will be held at Palms Funeral Home on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Angleton Cemetery. Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews. Active Pallbearers are Raymond Trevino, Ramsey Martinez, Sabas Cantu, Jr., Julian Cantu, Greg Hernandez, and Alex Martinez, Sr. Honorary Pallbearers are Felix Martinez, Jr., Domingo Martinez, Jr., David Martinez, Joe Martinez, Jorge Martinez, Michael Martinez, Martin Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Robert Cantu and Gustavo Jaramillo. The family would like to thank the staff of Cypress Woods Care Center and the nursing staff of A*Med Healthcare Group for their kindness and care given to Carolina and our family and to special cousins, Belinda Howell, Erlinda Jasso and all her friends who visited and spent numerous hours comforting her in her final days.
