Carolyn Maxine Thomas

December 14, 1944 — November 7, 2021

Carolyn Maxine Thomas left us unexpectedly on 11/7/2021 after a tragic car accident. Carolyn was born in Groesbeck, TX on 12/14/44 and grew up all around Texas including living in Waco, Pasadena, and Lake Jackson but mostly in Angleton, which is where she chose to spend her adult life. Carolyn was baptized in the Baptist church in her youth and maintained that affiliation throughout her life. If you see her photo and think you met this outgoing beautiful woman somewhere before, you probably did! Maybe she did your hair at High Fashion Coiffure or another salon where she was a hairstylist or you crossed paths when she managed the Greyhound bus station in Angleton? Perhaps you ate delicious sandwiches and homemade soup at her "Lunch Bag" restaurant in Angleton (which her children irreverently called "The Old Bag") or made friends with her when she worked at Surgitronics? Possibly she babysat your children at her "Li'l Darlings" Daycare? Or it could be that you saw her at a football or baseball game, swim meet, beauty pageant or rodeo because she supported every event for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Or most recently, you were one of the many people she greeted with a smile at Angleton Wal-Mart? Wherever she was, her enthusiasm for life and infectious sense of humor made fast friends and memorable impressions. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her sons Chris Walthall (Janie) and Rodney Thomas (Anneliese) and her daughter Tammy Hipp (Dale). Nana is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Adam Walthall (Rachael), Travis Walthall (Kalli), Robert Thomas, Rachel Cole (Michael), Colby Hipp, Karlie Hipp, and Dustin Hipp and her precious great-grandchildren Weston Walthall, Robin Walthall, Alice Walthall, Addison Hipp, Ryann Hipp and future baby Cole. "KaKa" is survived by her sister Barbara Lorraine (Paul), brothers David Jackson (Carol) and Randy Jackson (Jan) as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Mary Alice (White) and Belvin Jackson, grandson Cody Hipp and nephew Randy "Mac" Jackson, Jr. A service will be held for Carolyn at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton on Wednesday 11/17/2021, with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM and service to follow immediately. Burial will be in Falkenberry Cemetary in Groesbeck TX on Thursday 11/18/21 with graveside service at 10:00 AM. In remembrance of Carolyn, the family asks that you hug those people you love because life is far too short. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
