In Loving Memory of Carolyn Ruth (Morris) Mankin August 27, 1940 ~ July 31, 2017 On July 31, 2017, Carolyn Ruth Morris Mankin was escorted into the presence of Jesus and reunited with her family and friends in Heaven. Carolyn was born August 27, 1940 in Waldron, Arkansas. She was well-known and loved at Waldron High School, where she performed as a majorette, was elected Homecoming Queen and named Most Beautiful of her Senior class. Upon graduation, she married her high school sweetheart and after his release from the Army, they moved to Angleton in 1961 to begin their lives and family. Carolyn was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas. Throughout her life, Carolyn loved and appreciated all of God's earthly beauty, especially flowers, butterflies, animals and seashells. She worked passionately, for many years, at Angleton Flower and Gift Shop before opening her own florist shop in Angleton. In 1983, she married Bill Mankin, a good man who loved her dearly. They were married for twenty-five years until Bill's passing in 2008. She is survived by her three daughters, Laura Yarbrough, Linda Yarbrough and Karen Phillips. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Rhonda Moran and family; as well as, her stepson, Kyle Mankin and family. Carolyn also leaves behind her sister, Janice Parsley and family, and her brother, Jimmy (Buzz) Morris. Last but not least, Carolyn is survived by many dear and valued friends. Those who would like to express sentiments or condolences are welcome to do so at Palmsfuneralhome.com. Those who knew Carolyn knew how much she loved flowers- both giving and receiving. If anyone wishes to honor her with flowers, her daughters make this request: Buy, pick or plant some flowers in her memory. Enjoy them yourselves or give your flowers to someone else to brighten their day. She would have loved that. And that shall be her final gift. Services lovingly fulfilled by the dedicated staff at Palms Funeral Home located at 2300 East Mulberry Angleton, Texas 77515 (979) 849-4343.
