Charlie Ray Boswell

Charlie Ray Boswell, 97, of Angleton passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born to Carey and Hazel Boswell in Turnersville, TX on September 4, 1921. Public visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5-6:00pm in Palms Funeral Home with Funeral service to begin at 6:00pm. Burial will be in Turnersville Cemetery on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00pm. Charlie was a proud US Navy Veteran and WWII Veteran, he was a Pearl Harbor survivor that was on the USS Tennessee during the bombing. He was later transferred to the USS Waller Destroyer on its maiden voyage in the south pacific seas. His biggest accomplishment though was his family, he married the love of his life after only one date, Ruby Waldine Boswell. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby, sisters Eunice Campbell, Mildred Sturdivant, Mary Jo Strandley, Frankie Glaze, brothers Johnny and Raymond Boswell and daughter-in-law Doris Boswell. Charlie is survived by his children Charlie Wayne Boswell and Monta Cothron and husband W.A. "Mickey, sister Bonnie Boots Coward Watson, grandchildren Shay, Kristi, Jimmy, Mickye and Jullye, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and one on the way as well as numerous other family and friends.
