Charline K. Dailey

June 11, 1917 — November 14, 2013

Charline Kimsey Dailey went to her heavenly home on November 14, 2013. She now joins her husband, George, who preceded her in death in 1996. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Angleton at 10:00 am. A visitation will be held Friday, November 15th, from 7-9 pm at Palms Funeral Home, Angleton. Charline was born in her parents' home in Marietta, Oklahoma, in 1917. Their home also served as her wedding chapel on October 14, 1939, when she married her college sweetheart, George Dailey, Sr. They were both graduates of Oklahoma A&M. Following their first few years as a young couple in Oklahoma, they moved to Texas. After several ventures in Texas, they finally settled in Angleton in 1944. While Mr. Dailey worked as a chemist at Dow Chemical, Mrs. Dailey remained at home to raise their only child, George, Jr. and to act as the household CEO. She provided home support to her men's Scouting and other activities. After her son's departure to Texas Tech, Mr. and Mrs. Dailey became members of the RV community. They visited all of the lower 48 states plus Alaska. Mrs. Dailey was known as "Mom" to her son and his wife, Karen. To her three grandchildren, Lauren Lovelady and her husband, Brent; Russ Dailey and his wife, Pam; and Robyn Fullerton and her husband, Jason, she was known as "Granny." To her five great grandchildren she was known as "GG" (Great Granny). They are Emmy and Stephen Lovelady, Maddie Dailey, and Ryan and Kate Fullerton. Mrs. Dailey was a rock-solid Christian. She gladly shared her faith with many acquaintances. She loved to garden, and was an avid reader and crossword puzzle worker. She spent many hours creating beautiful handwork that she generously shared with friends and relatives. She loved poetry, and could recite many poems from her earlier years. She particularly enjoyed reciting comical rhymes to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed jokes, riddles, and laughter. Above all, Mom was a real prayer warrior. She covered her family with prayers every day. Thanks, Mom! Donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Dailey to the Angleton Christian School (First Baptist Church) of Angleton, Texas.
