Charlotte Beatrice Jones

Charlotte Beatrice Jakubec Jones passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday, March 5, following a lengthy illness. A long-time Angleton resident, she was born July 19, 1938, to Edward Aloys Jakubec and Adela Emma Mikel of Damon. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Allen "Chiefo" Dodds. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jimmy Ray Jones of Angleton; a sister, Judy Sanders; two brothers, Phillip Dodds and Bobby Dodds and wife Carolyn; two daughters, Dodie Armstrong of Angleton and Loretta Kay "Lori" Johnston & husband Willie of Crockett; grandchildren, Lora Armstrong Duffey and husband David, Jimmy Armstrong and wife Ashley of Danbury; and Emma Johnston. Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, and services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in the Palms Chapel, with burial to follow at Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willie Johnston, Jimmy Armstrong, David Duffey, John Blankenship, David Linder and John Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Billy McCoy, Ogden Bass, Joe King, Randy Huffstetler, Mike Echevarria, Marc Holder, Buba Rape, Mike Merekel, Freddie Brown, Buddy Baker, Matt Wingo, Charlie Adams, Pat Sebesta, Tom Selleck.
