Clarence John Gardovsky

Clarence John Gardovsky, 88, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on August 30, 2021. He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Adolph and Mary Volek Zapalac, father, John Gardovsky, his great grandson, Garrett Kramr Cantrell, and his loving wife of 55 years Betty Kramr Gardovsky. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Wayne Gardovsky, Michael (Norma) Gardovsky, Renee (Ronnie) Luster, Marcie (Michael) Schaatt, and Carmen Meischen, grandchildren, Lathon, Holly, Randy (Tricia), Keith Gardovsky, Courtney Swint, Kasey, Dean Tumlinson, David, Lacie, Lindsey, Cole Luster, Jacob, Zachary (Ashlynn) Schaatt, Dalton (Emily) Meischen, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and dear friends. Clarence was born on September 21, 1932, in Damon, Texas. He later moved to Angleton, Texas. He married his sweetheart, Betty, on February 15,1954. He enlisted in the army in 1953 and was stationed in Ft Sam and then Ft Hood as a Corporal with the military police. He returned back to Angleton and started his family. He was a pipe fitter by trade and was a member of the pipe fitters local 211. Summers were often spent with the family camping in Garner State Park. When the time came to watch his children participate in sports, he was always there to support them. He would spend a lot of his time at the girls' softball fields doing field, concession stand work or whatever else required attention while watching his daughters and granddaughters play. He always had such pride in all that his grandchildren did and would be there to cheer them on with any event they were involved in, He was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury for many years, and always willing to help them with bazaars, raffles, as well as anything else the church needed. The past few years he spent his afternoons sitting outside listening to his favorite music, visiting with family and friends as they would come by. Dancing at the American Legion Hall or traveling to Catholic Bazaars is where he devoted his weekends, enjoying the time he shared with his friends following his favorite bands. Pallbearers will be Lathon, Randy, Keith Gardovsky, Dean Tumlinson, Jacob, Zachary Schaatt, Dalton Meischen, Chandler Warren. Honorary Pallbearers are Kyler Gardovsky, and Noah Austin. A visitation and funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, in Danbury, Texas, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. The visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and continue until Mass at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery. Masks are required. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Anthony's Catholic Church. Service Details.
