Claudia Stockwell Oswald passed away on April 19, 2023 in Angleton, Texas. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 15, 1945. Claudia was a life-long resident of Angleton and a graduate of AHS class of 1964. She married her high school sweetheart, Wayne, and built a life in the community she loved so dearly. After graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in Education and Masters of Library Science, she taught in Alvin and Angleton for many years. She enjoyed connecting with her students and watching them flourish. In retirement, she was an avid traveller and quilter. She was an active member of the Angleton Cemetery Association Board of Directors, the Angleton Alumni Association and the Angleton Study Forum. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and doting on her two grandchildren. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Palmer Stockwell and Sadie Osborne Stockwell. She is survived by her husband Wayne Oswald, daughters Jill Oswald Cobb and Mendy Oswald Gregory, son-in-law Duane Gregory, and her two grandchildren Fiona Cobb and Dax Gregory. She is also survived by her sisters Velma Perry, Mary Stockwell, Nancy Stockwell, Molly McCoy and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 26 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 12:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Angleton. Claudia's family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received during this time.
