Cortez Preston " Matt " Matheson C.P. "Matt" Matheson, never knew a stranger. Everyone that was fortunate to meet him, was fortunate to call him a friend. On Sunday, November 3, 2013, Matt left this earth and took his infectious smile and bigger than life personality to charm the angels in Heaven. On August 30, 1921, Cortez Preston Matheson, was born to Glen & Jessie Denson Matheson in Shannon, Texas. He was raised in Hedrick, Oklahoma and joined the US Army to serve in Germany during WWII. Matt lived for his family and friends and was always in attendance at community functions. He was a proud supporter of the Danbury Panthers and could often be seen in the bleachers or behind home plate cheering them on. Every Sunday, after a donut breakfast with his grandkids and great-grandkids, Matt would be in attendance for the service at St. John Lutheran Church in Angleton. Matt was a lifetime member of the Brazoria County Fair Association and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
