Daniel Joseph "Danny" Catney

Daniel Joseph Catney, 63, of Angleton, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 in Brazoria County, Texas. Danny was born on Saturday, December 20th, 1958 in Marietta, Ohio to Paul & Dolores (Fischer) Catney. Danny was a 1977 graduate of Westbury High School in Houston, Texas, and loved working behind the scenes in audio/video during school plays and events and was well-liked by both students and teachers alike. He liked working on his vehicles, going to the beach and hanging out at weekend rodeos with his friends. He was an excellent country & western dancer and loved outdoor grilling & barbecue. He had a big heart, and possessed a natural talent for fixing things, and was quick to offer his assistance when asked. He was an incredibly hard worker and sadly was close to retirement when he suffered a fatal heart attack while at work. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and lively laugh, and especially for his love of his children: Casey, Cody, Christian and Elizabeth, and his many loving grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Catney, brother, David Catney, and wife, Laura Catney. Survivors include his mother, Dolores, his brothers, Kenny and Robert Catney, his sisters, Connie and Sharon, and their spouses, children and grandchildren. A Visitation will take place at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas on Tuesday, January 11th, starting at 4pm for family, and 5pm for friends until 7pm. A Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, January 12th at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene in Lake Jackson, Texas at 11am. Interment will take place immediately after at the Danbury Cemetery in Danbury, Texas.
