Darlene Marie Linder

November 12, 1943 — August 19, 2023

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered! With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved, Darlene Marie Martin Linder, age 79. Darlene passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on Saturday, August 19, 2023, in Angleton, Texas, with family at her side.

Darlene was born in Yankton, South Dakota, on November 12, 1943, to David and Evelyn Martin. She grew up in Clute, Texas, and had wonderful memories of her family, especially spending time with her paternal grandparents on their farm in Crosby, Texas.

She was an avid homemaker and an incredibly devoted wife of sixty-one years to her husband Albert, where they resided in Angleton, Texas.

Darlene intently cared for and immeasurably loved her three children, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and adored her two brothers and two sisters, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Her love of travel took her and her husband through all fifty states, the Caribbean and Canada. She shared that love of travel with her grandchildren, taking them on numerous camping trips throughout the southern states.

What a warm and gracious hostess she was! Every holiday would find her home full of family and friends and her swimming pool full of happily shrieking kids. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, all looked forward to her turkey and dressing, as well as divinity candies and peanut brittle.

Darlene had a passion and talent for sewing that began in the 8th grade. She made beautiful clothes, wedding dresses and quilts.

You could often find her tending to her vegetable and beautiful flower gardens. Her favorite flower, roses, could be found throughout her yard and decorating her home.

Darlene was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed tending the church flower garden.

Giving her heart and time was important to her. She served as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, volunteered for the Republican Party working elections, served on a Brazoria County Grand Jury, Member of the PTA Ways and Means Committee, Project Graduation Chairwoman, Salvation Army Bell Ringer, Board Member of the Friends of the Library Freeport and Former President and Treasurer of the Oakwood Creek Estates POA.

Darlene lived a full and beautiful life. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Albert Randall Linder; children David Linder (Mollie), Darren Linder (Kirstin), Julie Sabrsula (Jason); grandchildren Justin Linder (Sarah), Ryan Linder, Allison Christensen (Conner), Jacob Linder (Hanna), Katharine Linder, Jordyn Sabrsula and Joshua Sabrsula; great-grandchildren Lilly and Joleigh "Jojo" Linder, Ronin Linder and John Christensen; siblings David "Butch" Martin, Mary Ramsey, Ronnie Martin and Eileen Martin; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E. Mulberry St., Angleton, 5:00-7:00pm with Rosary beginning at 7:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1713 N. Tinsley St., Angleton starting at 10:00am.

Serving as pallbearers are Justin Linder, Ryan Linder, Jacob Linder, Jason Sabrsula, Conner Christensen and Mike Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers are Joshua Sabrsula, Thomas "T.W." Zirlott, Dave Ortego and Robert Dryman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Church Building Fund.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and staff at UTMB Angleton for their kind and compassionate care of our mom and family.
