David Roice Turner

David Roice Turner passed away on October 20, 2021, at the age of 60. David is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Turner; mother, Jackie Mikeska; and daughter, Lynn Turner. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Brenda Turner. Additionally, he is remembered by his children: David "Bear" Turner; Stacy Polk and husband Clint; Jessica Turner; Allison Hemphill and husband Zach; his grandchildren: Brennan Browning; Cierra and Chayse Turner; Nicholas and CJ Polk; his siblings: Alice Rogers; Raymond Turner and wife Lynette; Tammy Anderson and husband David Allen; Dorothy Anderson and husband Bubba; as well as, his nieces and nephews. David was born in Liberty, TX on December 25, 1960, and grew up on the San Bernard River. When his dad became ill, he became the man of the household and began his career by working in the commercial fishing industry, earning him local fame amongst the community. He eventually left commercial fishing to become a career welder and there was nothing he couldn't fix. If he wasn't at work or with his family, David could be found chasing redfish. His friends and family called him Ole Duke because his personality rivaled that of John Wayne, and his coworkers called him Turbo because he always operated at full speed. The visitation will be held at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, TX on Thursday, October 28 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
