Debbie Koert, 61, of Danbury went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Rockport, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Community Baptist Church in Danbury with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Danbury Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church. Debbie was born July 24, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas to John Olon & Charlene Eakin. Debbie lived in Danbury for 27 years and was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church. She was employed by Merit Medical for over three decades in the Purchasing department. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Koert, sons Leroy and Charlie Koert and brother John Eakin. Survivors include her daughter, Shelly Koert, grandson and light of her life Robert "Robbie" Vonepps, brother Phillip Eakin, sister Delta Sharp, Aunt Martha Radke, Uncle Kenneth Lemons (wife) Jimmie, nephew David Burns (wife) Michelle and numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie was an active member for many years of Community Baptist Church of Danbury. Some of Debbie's contribution to her church family included teaching Sunday School, preparing Wednesday night meals and coordinating food for the annual Fall Festival. Debbie was also a loved by her Merit Family for 32 years. Debbie also had numerous friends and acquaintances; Debbie never met a stranger. Pallbearers will be David Lee Burns, David Parr, James Parr, Steven Radke, Devon Lemons and Brody Lemons.
