Debra Kay Dudley

Debra Kay Dudley, 64, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2021, in Galveston, Texas. Debra was born on July 14, 1957, in Delhi, LA, to Dorvis and Sybil Ashley. Debra attended Aldine High School, where she met the love of her life, John Dudley. Debra married John in 1977. Debra and John moved to the Angleton area in 1983. Debra was a stay-at-home wife, where she had a childcare business for many years. After her children were grown, Debra started a career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where she retired in 2021. Debra was an active member of the First Baptist church of Rosharon, where she was an usher for the church services. Debra was a loving wife, mother, and Granny of 6 grandchildren. Debra enjoyed diet coke, I love lucy, Momma's family, and Bubba from The Heat of the Night TV show. She enjoyed shopping for jewelry and Avon. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends. Debra is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John Dudley, and her father, Dorvis Ashley. Debra is survived by her son, Joseph Dudley (Alecia), daughter, Ashley Land (Curtis), mother, Sybil Ashley, brother, Samuel Ashley, sister, Cynthia McKenzie (Terry), brother, Dorvis Dale Ashley (Tina), grandchildren, William Purcell, Christopher Dudley, Jenna Land, Michael Dudley, Kayla Dudley, and Samuel Land, along with numerous nieces, nephews, coworkers, and friends A celebration of life for Debra Kay Dudley will be held at the First Baptist Church of Rosharon, on September 13, 2021, at 10:00 am.
