Debra Renee Dowden

On Thursday, February 4, 2021, Debra Renee' Dowden of Angleton, TX, passed away at the age of 64 after a long battle with Covid. Renee' was born, in Pasadena on July 24, 1956, to Kenneth and Nancy (Underwood) Dowden. She spent her childhood in Alvin, TX and graduated from Alvin High School in 1974. As an adult, she relocated to Angleton where she later became a licensed Phlebotomist. She had two children, Chanie and Wes Forbes. Renee' was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, painting and crafts. She liked her career as a phlebotomist and meeting new people every day. Renee' was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Dowden, stepfather Gail Gish, and niece Lauren Ammons. She is survived by her daughter Chanie Long, grandson Riley Long of Angleton; son Wes Forbes, wife Brisa and grandchildren Evelyn, Anna, Wes Jr, Ashlyn, and Charlotte of Angleton; and former husband Edward Forbes of Angleton. Her mother, Nancy Gish of Dickinson; sister Cynthia Lynn Ammons, and husband Larry, of Dickinson; niece Charity Wood, husband Tony and children of Galveston; and nephews Daniel and Allen Ammons of Dickinson, along with many extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E. Mulberry St., Angleton, on Saturday March 6, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 PM. Space is limited Due to COVID-19 & Masks are required.
